As the voice of the agri-supply industry, AIC is seeking to appoint a Policy Manager to support the Association’s overall policy development at this critical time for the agricultural industry. With Government policy and, indeed, the economy moving towards a more sustainable and resilient base, the Policy Manager role will be central to AIC developing the evidence base to demonstrate the role its Members play in supporting this national, and global, initiative.
Working across the different Sectors within the Association the breadth of the role will require an individual who is as comfortable using their analytical skills to interpret data as they are delivering the Policy implications of that analysis to Member businesses as well as external Stakeholders and Government.
Working alongside the Policy Heads you will take a leading role in representing the Association and Members’ interests in development of policy emanating from both the Agriculture and Environment Bills including, but not limited to, the development of the Environmental Land Management (ELM) Scheme and the provision of advice within that. Soil health, water quality, improving productivity, supporting the effective use of inputs are all areas which you will become involved in as part of the wider aims of AIC “working in support of modern sustainable commercial agriculture”.
Working in a small team this position will appeal to you if you are a completer-finisher, revelling in finding solutions to challenges as well as leading projects to advance novel industry initiatives with stakeholders. You will maintain and enhance AIC’s profile with Members and Stakeholders, at the same time identifying opportunities to add value to Member’s businesses.
