Voluntary Initiative invovled in Defra-funded Resistance Roadshows (Dec - Feb)
In collaboration with AHDB and other organisations across the agricultural sector, the Voluntary Initiative will be speaking and exhibiting at 8 free Roadshows (7 across England, + 1 in Scotland) that focus on raising awareness of resistance and resistance management in pests, weeds and diseases. Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
As part of the Sustainable Use Directive, the UK government is required to show that UK growers are using Integrated Pest Management practices.
Grassland Focus
Careful use of PPP’s in grassland and forage agriculture is a particular focus for the VI. In comparison to Arable areas, PPP’s are often used less widely and less frequently but the importance of best practice cannot be understated.
