VI Chair Steps Down

Phil Jarvis will be stepping down as the Voluntary Initiative Chair.

Phil commented ‘It has been a pleasure to represent farmers and growers, liaise with water companies and Defra in many areas of crop production. After nearly four years, I feel it’s time for someone else to pick up the baton and continue to champion Integrated Pest Management.'

‘I am particularly pleased with the successful transfer of the National Register of Sprayer Operator Scheme to BASIS. To the colleagues I have worked with in the industry, especially Ruth Bailey and Neal Evans, thank you for your support, it has been a real team effort.’

The VI CIC Board thanks Phil for his dedication and hardwork during his time as Chair. The process of recruiting a new Chair has begun and details of the role and how to apply will be announced shortly. Phil has agreed to continue in the role until a new VI Chair is in place.
