Newest VI Champion - from the Amenity Sector is Shaun Faulkner

As the Voluntary Initiative continues to work in collaboration with the Amenity Forum, We are pleased to announce that our newest VI Champion is Shaun Faulkner of Kersten (UK) Ltd. Sean promotes integrated weed management introducing innovative, low-impact technologies to the UK.

Sean Faulkner is a leading expert in sustainable land management, focused on developing the practical, integrated solutions that define responsible stewardship.

He has a proven track record of driving industry-wide change, most notably by helping to shape the DEFRA-backed national Integrated Weed Management (IWM) guide and co-developing the new Lantra assessed training course on the subject.

As a Director at Kersten (UK) Ltd, Sean puts this policy into practice, introducing innovative, low-impact technologies to the UK. He has been instrumental in helping councils and operators transition from reactive, chemical-based methods to a more sustainable 'Proactive First' systems approach.

His work is built on a foundation of deep commercial and technical expertise, holding an Executive MBA from Quantic and a BA (Hons) in Business Management. This unique mix of policy and operational experience has seen him recognised in the 'Environment 100' (2025) and as one of the Grounds Management Association’s '35 under 35' (2025).

As a VI Amenity Champion, Sean is dedicated to developing the sustainable skills and best practices for land managers.
